Big news coming in from Canada! The Canadian economy has created almost 1 million jobs in the month of June 2020, a report released by CIC.
The lifting of lockdown restrictions related to coronaviruses across the whole of Canada triggered the start of Canada’s economic recovery. The unemployment rate continues to fall, with 953,000 people finding work in June.
Many Canadians and permanent residents have returned to work for their former employers, while others have started new jobs. Since Canada has a low birth rate, it is relying on immigration to drive the majority of its labor force growth. Hence, it still makes sense to admit high levels of newcomers even during this period. Such immigrants will likely see more employers competing for their services, which would result in much better employment outcomes and salaries.
Canada’s overall unemployment rate dropped from 13.7% in May to 12.3% in June.
In addition, the report says that the labor force participation rate has increased substantially over the last two months up to 63.8% in June. In comparison, it was 65.5% in February, before coronavirus-related restrictions.
The reopening of Canada’s economy bodes well for Canadians and permanent residents.
It should also instill confidence in future permanent residents, such as those currently overseas.
Canada resume all program Express Entry draws on 8th July including FSWP & PNPs
Canada invited 3,900 express entry candidates in the recent 155th Express Entry draw including FSWP and PNP Candidates. The province of Alberta has also invited Express Entry Candidates with CRS as Low as 300 !!
