Saskatchewan invited 158 express entry occupation in demand candidates in march 6th draw

Saskatchewan invited 138 invitations Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence in a selection round held on March 6th 2019.

A total of 70 invitations went to candidates under Saskatchewan’s Express Entry sub-category, a category which allows the province to nominate skilled worker candidates with a profile in the federal Express Entry system. The lowest-ranked candidate invited through this sub-category had a score of 67.

Another 68 invitations were issued through the Occupation In-Demand sub-category under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). However, In-Demand Occupation sub-category is not linked to the Express Entry system and the lowest-ranked candidate invited through this category in this invitation round had a score of 81.

Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 points toward their ranking score, effectively guaranteeing an ITA for Canadian permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.

In order to be considered for a provincial nomination through Saskatchewan’s Express Entry or Occupation In-Demand sub-category, candidates need to first register an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).

Applicants for both the Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand sub-categories are required to have work experience in a high-skilled profession on Saskatchewan’s In-Demand Occupations List, among other criteria.

The March 6TH 2019 draw came less than two weeks after an Express Entry-focused draw held by SINP on February 27 that issued 83 invitations.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has now issued a total of 515 invitations through its Express Entry sub-category while 302 invitations went to candidates through its Occupation In-Demand sub-category since the beginning of 2019.
